EUIEBIF and IRTI team up for ICIBF 2016
The Islamic Research and Training Institute (IRTI), and the European Association of Islamic Economics, Banking and Finance (EUIEBIF) with support from the University of Sarajevo, School of Economics and Business Sarajevo (SEBS) successfully organised “The 7th International Conference on Islamic Banking and Finance: Risk Management, Regulation and Supervision (ICIBF 2016)”. The two day conference was held at the Gazi Husrev Bey Library on October 31st and November 1st, 2016.
Over the course of two days, participants and presenters discussed risk management, regulation and supervision with a particular emphasis on “Financial Stability and Systemic Risk” in the context of an Islamic financial system.
The conference brought together domestic and international academics and experts from the field of Islamic economics and finance, and treated contemporary problems and issues in this area. The conference received a large number of papers from countries in the region and beyond, of which between 45 and 50 papers were presented at the conference.
This was the seventh conference in the field of Islamic economics and finance organised in cooperation with IRTI, and the first ICIBF to be held in Bosnia and Herzegovina. After Turkey, Indonesia, Jordan and Malaysia, to name a few, EUIEBIF was honoured to organise this conference in Sarajevo along with its partners the Islamic Institute for Research and Development from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and the Center for Islamic Economics Banking and Finance, Sarajevo.
